They would be in the Creature Pak.

Hey Jim, I have no fish for the wishlist but a Gate would be cool, where the fish can swim through, and a piece of wood were great too :D
|
What size is the aquarium supposed to represent?
I don't know if this has been put on the wishlist cause I didn't read all 9 pages but what about a freshwater teacup stingray, depending on the size of the aquarium of course. |
Ok, since fish can apparently be larger now, how bout an adolescent South American Redtail Catfish? Just old enough to get his red fins and white stripe.
A big aro and a big redtail- THAT's a freshwater ss. |
The fish in the Aquarium are supposed to be 3"-4" in length.
|
okay then ditch the freshwater rays
|
tigrinus catfish grows huge but still fun when a juvi

Release Date & suggestion
Jim --
Is there an estimated time of arrival for the Freshwater Aquarium? a month? Mid 2003? next year? BTW, I like the treasure chest! I think you should include those fish that clean the tank, like an algae eater. Would be nice to see there "belly" against the screen aka monitor. Wouldn't mind a turtle and a frog too! Just my two cents! -Cheers, RJW |
Nope, no ETA.
Algae eaters are planned. |
interesting, if there are going to be algae eaters will there be algae for them to eat. That would be a neat idea that algae would slowlly grow on the sides of the tank, or even on the treasure chest and give the algae eater something to eat.
|
Algae, Algae Eaters, Turtles, Frogs, Fish all living in harmony. If Jim's past in any prediction of the future this should be amazing. Now just to wait for the release? Com'mon Jim a month, a year, 5 years? An approximation? :)
|
Quick Death,
Don't hold your breath. In the past severeal years, Jim has made it a policy not to give out release dates. There are just to many unexpected things that can stop you dead in your tracks, or even worse, make you throw out the past week's work and start over again. You might as well ask someone for the next 3 winning lottery numbers in a row. |
There is no upside to estimating completion dates, only downside.
|
Well look at the bright side, we already have some nice fishies to enjoy until the other stuff gets done.
|
completion dates would just make people mad if there was a delay.

Thanks, Michael. :) I just discovered Serene Screen last night, and I'm hooked!! And thank you, Jim, for creating such an incredible program! I had an aquarium eons ago and it was always so sad when a favorite fish died.
Attached is a lovely discus. BTW, there was a fantastic store in San Francisco many years ago called Fairy Lake Discus Palace. That's all they sold. Window shopping there was really incredible. :) |
I ran a salt water tank for years and I can relate to that, not to mention that this was a long time ago and some of the ones I lost were $150-200 ea. that didn't help matters any either.

to add to the slighlty ugly though interesting attributes hands down to the snakehead fish, which when Pres. Bush first stepped into office made all varieties illegal to bring into the United State due to the problems popping up with these predator fish

For anyone wanting to request or submit new fish/creatures for the photo page, there are a few simple things that would help us get your request processed quickly and up on the page. Of course, you are always welcome to continue to post photos and/or information here.
If you wish, you may also email me photos directly. Send them to my standard forum email address Jav400@comcast.net and I will take care of them for you. We will continue to shoot for high standards for photos, so we would request that you follow a few simple guidelines. 1) Submit photos of high quality, showing a single fish/creature as the primary subject, not a group or schooling shot. 2) About any file format or size is ok, as I will need to change and/or adjust those to fit the new page anyway. 3) Include the name of the fish/creature that you're requesting. 4) Please do not submit duplicates of fish/creatures already shown. 5) Please put Freshwater Wishlist in the subject line. With this information I should be able to handle your requests in a timely fashion. Hopefully, in addition we will get the voting process in place before too long so everyone can see which fish are the most popular. Thanks, Jav |

That is all I have, so you can tell I am looking forward to the freshwater aquarium as well. I have the Marine Aquarium, I bought it when I had to mail Jim a check. And I just purchase the goldfish, I hadn't join in on any posts because I was working and did not have the time to post, although I did read them. But with my husband retirement, I decided to join him, I have more time. Y'all may get tired of me. LOL
|
Never, Welcome to the forum, and glad to have you join in. Hope you enjoy your retirement. :)
|
Great pictures Marian. Those tanks look almost as enjoyable to watch as Jim's. :)
|
Thank you

I'd love to see the following fish;
Uaru (Uaru amphiacanthodies) Spiny Eel (Mastacembelus armatus) and Shovel-Nosed Catfish (Soribim Lima) I think. |
Uharu,
Welcome to the forum, we need photo's. :) |
hehe, easier said than done :) I have a website but at present cannot seem to be able to link to it, is there any other way I can show you the pictures.
Thanks |
If you hit the "post reply" button at the lower right corner of this page you'll be taken to a page with more posting options than in the "Quick reply" one at the bottom of this page. Click away at the "Browse" button and attach the image you'd like to show us. You can only attach one file per post and it has to be smaller than 128 kB in size.

Nice fish - especially with the catfish.
Um, I don't want to worry you Uharu, but did you know there's an Alien in the tank with your eel? ;) Either that or maybe you've got an eel skeleton of some sort in there. ;):) |
