Halley's weird eyes...
Hi,I've bought Goldfish Aquarium 2 and I love it,Prolific did a awesome job! It's really amazing to see improvements made since the first release, especially faces of the Goldfishes and their realistic animations but after long observation I've noticed a little bug on the animated face of Halley...It's eyes seem to duplicate during the animation of the gill cover and that give Halley a weird look...
Has anyone noticed that detail? Thanks for responses!;) -RickDeckard- |
Hey, Rick... Thanks for kind words! Also, thanks for the heads-up; I'll look at Halley tonight and see if I can figure out what's causing the problem. Maybe we'll be needing to put out a 2.01 release soon...?

Halley's weird eyes...
Thanks Eric for this lightning response! :)
Here is a screenshot of Halley:look at the left and upper ones ... http://img336.imageshack.us/img336/6...leybug11wp.png |
Wow. Once you see it, it's really obvious! I'll try to fix it in the next release, or the one after that. Thanks for catching that, Rick!

Are you saying that you can actually see the other eye 'clipping' through?
|
That's right Feldon.

Eric,
Does Draw Order keep you up nights? |
LOL... Actually, I think this problem is even lamer than that, it looks like a combination of three mistakes I made: somehow I left Halley's eyeballs a tiny distance away from her body, AND the texture map of the body includes the dark eyes... AND I'm animating the gills such that they pull away from the eyes on each breath... D'oh!!! It's amazing that nobody ever caught that before. Probably because she's such a little, inconsequential-looking fish... poor thing.

So Eric is going to deal out justice to this pretty young thing! Thanks for her!

Ha, ha - it's amazing that bit of humor made it through all the required language translations.

I noticed the same thing immediately. His eyes deform strangely when his mouth moves! It looks quite freaky. I have a 40 L tank with nothing in it right now, and I'm a little sick of having to have a big heater in these things. So I'm thinking of maybe a variety of coldwater species. Luckily there is more to choose from then just comets ;)
