Exercise Care with 10.3.8

I have had a few problems with 10.3.8, not related to any screen savers. Unless you have a real good reason to upgrade I'd hold off for a few days to see what shakes out.

Good call, Jim. I've read some stuff about the fans of "updated" Macs not wanting to spin down at all. Guess I'm one of the few who are immune to that problem... ;)

Upgraded. No issues. Was keen on getting new drivers for WoW. :D

I've been using 10.3.8 since the first post on my Powerbook (no issues) and my 2x2GHz G5. Other than having cooling fans which seem hypersensitive and spin up a lot more often than they used to (which may be a good thing, who knows), I don't have any reason not to upgrade.

I got 10.3.8 just about as soon as I turned the system on for the first time... No problems running MA other than the jaggies as posted in the other thread...

Anyway, is the 2.01 version of MA floating around for Macs anywhere? I'd like to get my Jim fishes back... Also, is it possible to run the widescreen mode on a Mac without a widescreen monitor?

Not sure what you're looking for here. I believe all the fish in MA 2 were done by Jim Sachs, regardless of the bug-fix version.

Only in window mode in the application. When you run full-screen, it fills the screen and uses the aspect ratio which most closely matches the screen dimensions.

Goldfish Aquarium on the Mac allows you to select which aspect ratio you wish to use (normal, wide, best fit).

Not in the file I downloaded from serenescreen.com it still has Ken's 5 fish in it (it even says so in the about)... It's version 2.0.6... I was wondering if there was a version for the Mac will fish done all by Jim...

Hi Doc,

Hang tight. I'm puttering along on a version using the GA codebase and give you the Sachs v2 fish. It is interspersed in other work, though.

That's good enough for me, I'm just glad to know I'm not crazy or ignorant... ;)

Tiny Turtle 02-28-2005 01:33 AM

At least not in that aspect... ;)

JimO'Connor 02-28-2005 08:21 AM
