Screen saver does not secure PC fm I.E.

:compute: I've had the Marine Aquarium screen saver for a while and today when I came into the room my 14 year old son was on the internet. The computer was locked (XP sp1) but he had found a way to open internet explorer without any passwords.

Not a major deal around our house but can this be corrected? Is there some setting I've missed?

What version of the Saver?

I was under the impression that the newest ones are supposed to not have problems getting around security on XP/2000.

You should have "exit on mouse move" checked and password enabled on the windows screensaver settings. I don't know of any way that he could have done this, unless he just knows your password. Did he tell you how he managed it?

Worf,

Make sure you download the newest version. For some reason an older version was accidentally put up for download.

Thanks to all. I checked and I have version 1.1. Didn't think I'd had it that long. I'll download the new version and try the suggestions...along with quizzing my son. :-)

Hey, welcome!! Big time, I see you are from North Carolina, well so am I. Now maybe these people on the forum won't think I am from another planet. He he he:) :TU: :D

Jav400 02-09-2004 06:02 PM

Worf is from another planet. :)

Worf 02-09-2004 06:10 PM

planet?

This is where I wish Worf had some clever response like "Live long an prosper." or "He's dead, Jim." :p

Maybe he does and I'm just not a big enough trekkie.

Love the aquarium. It's the closest I'll get to attempting a marine aquarium. I have a difficlut time enough keeping up with my fresh water tank.

Re: planet?

My favorite Worf line was in the Q/Robin Hood episode.

He says, "Sir I proest. I am NOT a merry man."

Jav400 02-10-2004 05:43 AM

I had forgotten that episode. Thats a good line. :TU:

feldon34 02-10-2004 02:13 PM

and in the episode with the Fish people who are there to blow up the conference (They arrive standing up and in hibernation, with a tub of the food they eat sitting next to them), Worf says "What an attractive race."

Jav400 02-10-2004 02:24 PM

That one I don't remember at all. I guess my Trekie status is slipping. :(

My pick for the best Worf line ever was when his wife(?) walked into his room and started talking to him. He didn't turn around, and when she asked why he wouldn't look at her, he replied:

"I am familiar with your appearance."

Maybe thats why they all have lumps on their head. :)

Quote:

Maybe that's why... etc.
"If you were any other man, I would kill you where you stand!"

Hey, it might be possible to construct an entirely new episode just by rearranging random quotes!

Not that I would want to, of course...

{Goes and stands in a corner trying not to look embarrassed}

feldon34 02-11-2004 04:08 PM

I haven't seen the episode with his wife.

Wizwad's last quote is from First Contact, what I consider the best Trek film ever (much to the chagrin of Wrath of Khan lovers).
