An idea on how to use all 26 type fishes in one screensaver

Here is a suggestion for having different varieties of fish appearing on the screen while maintaining the same number of fish all the time.

When a fish swims off screen, that fish would not reappear, but a different type of fish can enter from the opposite side of the screen. When a fish swims behind the coral bed, that fish would not reappear, but another type fish would swim out from behind the coral bed. All 26 different fish in the same screen saver would be used by turns, and the maximum number of fish you would like to be visible at any time in the screen saver (maximum being 7) would remain consistent.

Thanks for your suggestion. This has been discussed many times. Some reasons why it's not being done:

-Not realistic

-Creating and destroying 3D geometry as the Aquarium is running causes problems on many video cards

And having all the other 19 fish already created but waiting off-screen would increase the system requirements alot.

You can do what I do, use fishpicker 4.0 thread found here

I set mine up with 10 profiles, each with a different background color variation and different fish set... mine is set to randomize every 10 minutes though you can set it for many other increments including 1 minute. So, in my aquarium, every 10 minutes launches a new background color I picked, with 7 fish I picked.. this process is quick, as it only takes my aquarium 5 seconds to reload

good luck,
riz
