hahahahaha

dspDrew 09-26-2007 05:22 PM

Please tell me this version is going to have dual screen support (unique for each monitor)..

Anybody know?

feldon34 09-26-2007 06:58 PM

dspDrew,

Welcome to the forums!

The background will extend over both monitors, showing something different on each monitor, with fish swimming from screen to screen.

Hmmmm..its November now right? Almost end of the year? Do I see a beta on the horizon?

Jim Sachs 10-16-2007 03:09 PM

It's still October here in Oregon.

ESHIREY 10-16-2007 04:31 PM

:D hahahahahaha same here.

enigma63941 10-16-2007 06:22 PM

By Jims standards we should have one anytime now..and I do mean ANYTIME. Tomorrow, next year..as long as it comes out right:lol:

ESHIREY 10-16-2007 10:59 PM

That's right.

Just having a look see to see if anythings developed as yet and more importantly to keep in touch from Sydney down here.
yes as mentioned above , Christmas is almost here and it would be such a nice one to unwrap a new updated fish tank or even just an addition to the MAT tank, meanwhile time and tide etc etc , and my hair groweth white and suitable for a father Christmas. Maybe Grandpa will get something new to show the yougsters in the 'puter tank' . hope the beta works well and a release is pending . Thanks Jim , for the years of the fish screens .

I'm back to working on MA3 full-time now that the big move from California to Oregon is over. Forward progress is being made.

ESHIREY 10-24-2007 01:18 PM

That's real good news.

 It's still october!

Jim Sachs 10-25-2007 09:59 AM

Well, I can say right now that nothing significant will be happening before the end of the month. I'm currently stuck in the busy-work of reversing every texture used by the fish. The old program needed the images to be upside-down, while the new one uses rightside-up textures. I spent the last few days getting the first fish working in the new tank, finding a lot of changes that have to be made to each fish. It took me a while to realize that the eyes and fins were not moving because when you use shaders you are responsible for manually supplying all the transformations for objects; the parts are not automatically multiplied by the World Matrix or their local matrices. Ha, ha - more technical details than you need to know?

Anyway, one fish is now happily swimming around a rather blank tank. In fact, right THROUGH the few objects that are there, since there is no collision-avoidance yet.

Sounds like still a long way to go! - But thanks for the update, Jim. It's nice to hear about progress, (or even lack of!). Much better than hearing nothing at all.... Thanks! :)

ESHIREY 10-25-2007 11:21 AM

In the past I had to put different things together and found out each time after the first one (which was the hardest) the other ones came a lot faster. I think Jim will have the same luck. After one hard one the others will come faster. Keep it up Jim. We all have faith in you that it will come easier for you.

Yellow Tang 10-26-2007 03:20 AM

Which fish? Is is yellow? :D

patscarr 10-26-2007 04:25 AM

Thanks for the great update, Jim!

feldon34 10-26-2007 07:03 AM

Well the Yellow Tang is Jim's favorite fish in the tank -- to my knowledge.
