I don't know about the SB Live, but most cards have 3 jacks - Microphone in, pre-amplified line out for "dead" speakers, and non-pre-amplified line out for headphones and amplified speakers.

The processor makes very little difference, it's all in the video card. The Rage IIc is the bottom-most chip that will run the Aquarium.

Go to the Display Properties sheet, then Setting/Advanced/Performance. Make sure the Hardware Acceleration slider is turned all the way up to Full.

Thanks for your help on this problem. It had been reported by about a half-dozen people, and I was totally unable to duplicate it on any of my machines.

In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.

Click the Windows Setup tab.

Click Multimedia, and then click Details.

This version uses a different way of storing...

We've had 3 reports of no sound with Sound Blaster cards. I'll get one on Saturday, and try it out.
