As for "off by default" that's been asked before awhile back I think, and no that probably won't happen. Jim just can't take the chance of getting calls from people wanting monitors replaced no matter how obscure the chance might be. Better safe than sorry.
The clock will be added at a later date when a few other things are taken care of.
