I've been running XP for well over a year now, with no problems whatsoever. It's much more stable than Win98, but I have no point of comparison to NT or 2000 since I passed by those OS's.
Reports of XP's instability are either overinflated or a result of bad hardware, or something. At least in my experience, and in the experience of others that I end up helping, XP has been a very good OS.
I will go for weeks without rebooting, and then it's usually because of some software install or Windows Update that requires a reboot. And that's with switching between 3 profiles multiple times a day.
All this said, I wouldn't put it past anyone to have troubles with particular hardware/driver/software configurations. There are so many opportunities for trouble that I wouldn't be so bold as to say that no one has any problems with XP, or any OS for that matter.
So I guess they should keep 2000 support in there for you, huh?
