Big Grin Frame rate is extremely slow...?

My frame rate is extemely slow. I'm waiting to register until I can correct the problem. I've tried changing to 16 bit, 32 bit, everything under the sun, it doesn't help. Here is a description of my system.

Compaq Deskpro EN
Windows 2000
Pentium 3
DirectX 8.1

Please help...

"DeskPro EN" is not specific enough. There are dozens of models from Compaq that match this description.

Please post a much more detailed listing of your components (especially your video card name and model!), or the EXACT model number of computer you have so I can look it up on HPCompaq's website.

The most likely problem is the wrong video driver is installed. As soon as you post again, we'll be able to suggest the right video driver, where to get it, and help with any other support issues.

Here is some information, I don't know how helpful it'll be. If not let me know where I can go to get what you need. These numbers are pulled right off of a sticker on the harddrive.

ENCP/P733/10e/9/128cv US
SERIAL NO. 6034 DYSZ W098

Thanks for you fast response on my prior post...!

On the hard drive?

Isn't there a sticker on the back of the tower?

Is it a tower or desktop?

The Deskpro EN can describe ~20 models. Plus, it was a customizable system. I just read through the specifications and there are at least 5 different video cards that could have been installed.

You should be able to look under hardware profiles and display adapters and find out what video card you are running

Start menu -> Settings -> Control Panels -> System ->

On Windows 2000/XP

Click the Hardware tab at the top, and click the Device Manager button. Fold down the 'Display Adapters' branch and see what it says.

On Windows 95/98/ME

Click the Device Manager tab at the top.

Fold down the 'Display Adapters' branch and see what it says.
