Settings Screen Doesn't Appear

Jim,

First my specs are:
Windows Vista 64 bit.
Native resolution is 1440 X 900 32 bit.
I am running an NVidia 8600 GT M Graphics card with the 180.6 driver version.

This bug occurred with the 7i version of your aquarium.

I was playing around with switching resolution.

I happened to select 800 X 600 32 bit and found a small bug. After viewing the aquarium at the smaller resolution I hit the space bar to bring the settings panel back up. The fish paused swimming but the panel didn't appear. Hitting the space bar a few more times let me toggle between the fish swimming and pausing but never brought up the settings panel.

I was able to use the escape key to exit out of the screen saver and then re-adjust the screen resolution from the screen saver settings menu within Windows Vista.

I then played around with recreating this and found the same problem at 1024 X 768 32 bit. I noticed if I then clicked on the screen with my mouse that the settings panel appeared for a moment and then the serene screen website popped up. So I now believe that the settings panel is there, but just hidden behind the screen saver or transparent.

I haven't tested every resolution yet.
Sincerely,

S. Justin Gengo

Additional Information

This only happens in full screen mode when changing to some non-native screen resolutions.

Settings do not show when using Antialiazing to override program settings.

"When you have antialiazing set to override program settings... the menu won't appear with the space bar... that's always been an issue If I recall."

Taken from post https://www.feldoncentral.com/forums...ead.php?t=4657 witten by Mith.

If you have Windows Vista, and an Nvidia video card, with the latest Nvidia drivers:

1. Right click the desktop, and then select Nvidia Control Panel.
2. Under Select a Task, expand 3D Settings, and then select Manage 3D settings.
3. On the right hand pane, select the Global Settings tab.
4. In the Settings, select Antialiasing - Mode and chnage the option to Application-controlled. (Or you can click the Restore button to restore all default settings.)

.... Settings do not show when using Antialiazing to override program settings.

That's never been a problem for me, I've had anti-aliasing set to override program settings for years, - perhaps that's another Vista peculiarity.

Those are the instructions for turning off global antialiasing. If possible, I'll try to make changes in the program which will allow its use for those who like it. The first step is being able to duplicate the problem, but I haven't had any luck with that yet.

Same Bug - Confirmed

I tried setting the antialias to application controlled and this does indeed fix the problem. So this is certainly the same bug reported in the other post. Sorry for reporting it again.
