I have no experience of seeing a Sea Fan coral in the flesh, so to speak. But for something that I should imagine would be very easily moved by the slightest current, I think that is just about right. - Perhaps if there could be periods of reduced movement or calm, at random intervals, it might be even better? - Would that be possible? - Or am I Gilding the Lilly ?

I agree with that. The movement of the Sea Fan coral looks a bit too repetitive now.
