I fail to understand why people cannot grasp the concept that Marine Aquarium 3.0 IS RELEASED ALREADY.
Go to Serenescreen and purchase it. Jim will continue to make improvements as time goes on, but that doesn't mean its not available now.

If 3.0 is release, many people wish Freshwater Aquarium Alpha will begin test.
But it didn't. |

Jim, decided a few versions back that the beta was stable enough to release properly but they still call it a beta. Just a released beta. Due to the fact that the product is still having features added and is not yet feature complete.
It sounds though if jim releases Ma3 (no beta) then it seems like you wish all development on it to stop! Thanks Regards, Neil |

There's no such thing as "feature complete". Even after 10 years of Marine Aquarium, people ask for new features every day. There will be additions and imnprovements to MA3 for years to come, even after the Freshwater Aquarium and other SereneScreen products are released.
The Freshwater Tank is still a long way off. It's true that I showed Morgan a test of it several years ago, but at that point it was really just the gravel, a bubblling tresure chest and four fish. One advantage is that I don't need to bring it over to DirectX8 - it already uses the new framework. In fact, when I started writing MA3 I began with the Freshwater Tank code, not MA 2.6. It took me about a year to create all the background objects in MA3, and the same would be true for Freshwater.

I suspect that the "problem" is that average folks, who have not been closely following this forum for several months, have great difficulty in grasping the concept of selling "MA3 Beta".
I'm not complaining - just pointing out that it's a rather unique concept. Which means that many folks won't grasp it easily. They will either think that (1) If it is being sold, then it is essentially feature-complete, except perhaps for a few bugs; or (2) If it's a publicly-released Beta, then there is certainly a known schedule for release-to-manufacturing of the feature-complete version. I have no suggestions for fixing that. |

I'm not really complaining. Sales are strong and increasing (though still only 1/4 of what they were during the best years of the program). We have a new publisher lined up, Nova Development, and are encouraged that they have been trusted with the software for such high-profile companies as Berlitz, HGTV, and Sesame Street. So, we should be in the stores again within a few months, and the increased visibility translates directly to web sales. Prolific is also keen on doing some actual advertising this time around.

Jim, I didn't think you were complaining. I was just attempting to answer the following "issue" and other similar ones:
