I had Feather Duster worms in my aquarium, & I think you really nailed this on the first try "Our greatest natural resource is the minds of our children."

I think everything looks generally good. It could use a few more fronds in the center though, maybe some slightly different length fronds..................

There are many different type of Feather Dusters. The one at my local aquarium store which I was using as an example looks almost exactly like the one in MA3. It has a single circle of fronds, all of which are the same length. The fronds do bend a bit more, but this is only apparent on very close examination, and wouldn't justify the vast increase in model complexity and animation code necessary.

Nice job...
but.. things seldom appear as a single plant / creature. A few more would be nice... perhaps rooted behind the corral and would show only over the edge when undisturbed. Would add realism to the depth of the tank.. ??? Or a few on the edge of the cave.. a typical place where they would grow in a real enviroment |

I love the new fan worm, fantastic to see something new in the tank again! I love watching it, seems very real to me!
A quick note about installation. I was using the non-expiring Installer build of Beta 10a as advised so I wondered what to do now a new beta file is available. I don't know if this is correct as there was no instructions but it works great for me... I downloaded 10b and copy pasted it into Windows > Systems32 on Vista 64bit Home Premium. The installer version of the screensaver is called MarineAquarium3.scr but the standalone beta I downloaded was MA3Beta.scr, so I renamed the older file MarineAquarium3_old.scr just in case and then renamed MA3Beta.scr to MarineAquarium3.scr. I then ran the usual desktop icon installed from using the non-expiring Installer build of Beta 10a and the new v10b displays perfectly with my settings intact and the new worm okay. Was this the correct way to proceed or should I have uninstalled the non-expiring Installer build of Beta 10a? Thanks again.
Bought MA3 Beta on previously for Vista and now running it on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit with an Nvidia GTX650Ti powering a 22" monitor and it's stunning!

Re "The Old Man" - you are correct if you want to use the beta as a screen-saver, also keeping the old version is a good idea, so if the beta expires before the next version you can put the non-expiring program back. Personally I just dump the betas on my desktop and run them from there...

I do what John does . It makes it easy to bin the beta betas when they expire - no digging through files and folders .

Nice work Jim~!
I've tested on our new EeePC Touch T91, it looks great, however, the additional Feather Duster worms does reduce a few fps, since the graphic card on T91 isn't as powerful as the desktop one. However, using the touch feature to act as mouse to access the exit on mouse feature does add more friendly UI. I've also tried on Aqua Real, now you can touch the screen to interact with the fish, so intuitive, but that's another story on another screensaver. I hope one day MA could add mouse click interaction feature, so that it would blend into touch screen perfectly, since the touch screen is the mainstream in future notebook or desktop PC, or even the UMPC and Tablet PC now..... PS:Jim, I'm still waiting responses, nothing yet, maybe they are still busy....

Here you go. One is when it's all pulled into it's tube and the other is when it's all out. It flows around in the water a little bit when out. Lovely. I've never seen one before so I can just sit back and enjoy it without worrying whether it's right or not.

But you've managed to get your downloads of the betabetas fixed now, right? So you should be seeing the tubeworm in its full glory by now.
I hope.
