iTunes not working
Has anyone else run into iTunes not working with Marine Aquarium 3?
I don't even see anything in the iTunes list in the screen saver. iTunes 9.0.1 |

Can you provide a bit more explanation of what you're seeing? As to not seeing any playlists in the Sound panel, is the checkbox for iTunes enabled and/or the iTunes app running?
MA 3 for the Mac gets the list of playlists by querying the iTunes app (through AppleScript), which requires that the iTunes app is running (if it isn't, then it is launched). If the checkbox for iTunes is disabled (indicating that you don't want music played while the aquarium is running) and the iTunes app is not running, then we don't run the script to get the playlists. The idea is that if you have the music option turned off, you probably don't want iTunes launched every time you run MA (or bring up the preferences). Turning on the music option or launching iTunes will result in the list being populated. |

Maybe we should have hover text for the list box which tells the user that it is empty because iTunes is not running, check the iTunes box or launch iTunes to populate the list.

And we got a lot of complaints when we automatically launched iTunes just to get the playlists even if users weren't using the iTunes feature. So, this is MUCH better than the alternative.
