Server Issues of January 21st

Sorry about Sunday.

One of the websites I host has a forum. A member of that forum was banned for being a total prat, sending threatening harassing messages and such. Rather than finding something else to do with his time, he sent an e-mail saying basically unban me or your websites are going down and will stay down.

Took about 24 hours to straighten it out.

I was wondering.. if the end had come. Seems the group is getting smaller and smaller. Thanks for the heads up.

The last week has been insane. It's going to be rough, but we're coming back online.

Please don't do this too often.. It disrupts my morning routine not to log on and see who is still around.

I wanted to express my sincere apologies for the extended outage that this site experienced over the last week. One of the other websites hosted on this server attracted the attention of a very negative individual who decided to initiate a Distributed Denial-of-Service attack against the entire server. This persisted for several days and so it was necessary to find and migrate to a new server that can mitigate these kinds of attacks. This process took far far longer than anticipated.

Welcome back and I plan to stick around for many years to come!

That's a relief!

I, too, was getting rather worried! I'm glad it was needless.

Good to hear. Now if we could get Cliff to dream up something interesting to get the old crew back..
