Oh I think I would sit down and cry if that happened to what Jim has done. I can only imagine what Jim would do.

I dunno, I kind of liked "Good Lord, a talking fish!" I think I'll use that as my sig.
Just kidding. And please tell me what in the world a fish is doing saying, "Does thou know, my son, with how little wisdom the world is governed?" I'm not grokking the connection to fish at all... |

Re: Why Jim does not want User Plugins ;)
I've been reading this forum for about 4 months now, and this is the first time I've heard anyone mention any dissatisfaction about the blue gradient background. I've been meaning to post something along these lines for a while now.
With everything else looking so realistic, there just seems something missing with the background. Not that I can think of anything else instead. I don't think a faded image of a livingroom through the other side of the glass would quite fit either.

Re: Why Jim does not want User Plugins ;)
Most reefkeepers nowadays just have either solid dark blue or black backgrounds on their tanks. These are part of the tank itself, usually, or were painted on by the hobbyist. Those plastic rolls that have printed background photos on them are out of vogue for reefers at least. And those aluminum foil things are really out. And those "magic crystal" backgrounds (remember those? You paint this stuff onto the back glass of your tank, and it crystallizes into a bunch of patterns) are REALLY REALLY out.
So I think the blue gradient is fine. |
