installing from CD

I recently bought the MA2 cd and cannot get it to install on my system. It autostarts and I get the launcher screen, click install.
The terms of agreement box comes up, I click accept. That ox disappears, the system is busy for about 30 seconds...then NOTHING!

Has anyone else had this problem, Or is it just me?

What version of Windows?
What video card?

My computer is home built.
I run windows XP home edition
video card is the Radeon 7500
sound is built into the motherboard.
the motherboard is a syntax with amd athlon.
