Clint - Tangs (Surgeonfish) are so named because of a small knifelike projection on each side at the base of the tail. In this case it's at the pointed tip of the orange spot, but doesn't actually stick out of the fish model. Maybe they will in 3.0.

Thanks, Jim. I knew that, but only from doing searches online trying to find you a picture of a juvenile achilles tang. I was trying to be funny; you know, Tang--the astronaut drink, in lovely orange flavor. Anyway, I can't wait to add the Achilles Tang to my tank. What is the other fish you are making?

Sorry I missed the joke Clint. Too many days in hunkered-down mode working on this thing have dampened my sense of humor.
Hopefully, the other fish will be a Clearfin Lionfish.

Jim, what made you decide to go with that Tang anyway? It seems odd that you would choose a fish you're not really sure what it looks like.

Well, I've run out of fish that I have actually seen, and Morgan had his heart set on the Achilles Tang

Wow. That's all I can say. Honored to have my favorite selected and I have to say it looks fantastic.

I remember Tang - used to be one of my favorite drinks growing up. A couple of teaspoons of that orange in water and presto!! Thanks for the chuckle a few posts back. Congrats Jim, one fish done, one to go. Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes. |

Will Ware at Prolific is installing the new fish in his code over the next couple of days, and it may need a little tuneup after we see how it behaves. It looks fine when I program it here, but he has made quite a few changes in the code over the past few years. The listing order of the polygons may have to be reversed or changed to insure that they are painted on the screen in the proper back-to-front order, or the texture may need to be turned right-side-up (my code needs it upside-down).
