Okay I just duplicated this bug when the screensaver kicks in. Now to figure out why. Sorry.

I've added an .mp3 file to the playlist, (which works). Then put AltLogo.png into the same folder. - It doesn't work.

Edit: - I see you now agree.

Beta 8i: http://www.fish-byte.com/MA3Beta.zip

Changes:
Alternate crystal logo should appear on all screens now.

Opening splash screen should appear much earlier, not flicker, and appear at roughly the same time on all monitors.

The "shocking yellow lettering" tells me that what I've just downloaded is '8i' not 8h. - It's working, but where it's getting the MA3Playlist.lst and AltLogo.png from is anyone's guess. - The goal posts have been moved so many times, and file names changed, that there are now copies of those files and other obsolete stuff all over the place.

I think the only way forward is to try and rid my computer of 'everything' MA3 related, then start again from scratch......

Edit: Just seen your post, Jim. - Yes, the opening splash screens now appear simultaneously.

Have the AltLogo.png in the 2.6 folder. The L key still does nothing.

While the release of all these Betas may seem breathtaking, it just proves to me that there is serious interest from Jim and Edgar to get the Vista exit security issue, multimonitor issues, and also the crystal and playlist folder issues resolved to everyone's satisfaction so that they can move forward with bigger changes.

Tried that, still nothing happens when I press the L key. It's not a big deal, I can wait till after beta and the logo is finalized to wherever it's going to be. I assume it will be in the settings box similar to 2.6.

It will still be a while before the final logo support is in place.

Yeah, nothing happens to mine either. Then again, I probably won't use it anyway.

Uploaded Beta 8k:
http://www.fish-byte.com/MA3Beta.zip

Fixed a possible crashing bug if the unregistered version of the program tried to load a fish list which was created by a registered version.

Fixed several visual anomolies that had been reported.

Changed the look of the fish chart when copy is unregistered.

Added giant icon for Vista (just the Marine Aquarium 3 logo for now).

Hi Jim,
I've been enjoying your wonderful aquarium for years. I've been running all the betas and they are Awesome! Thanks so much for including some of the "old timers" to participate in the testing. I'm currently running the Aquarium on an Acer GemStone Blue, 64 bit, Nvidia Geforce 9500M GS. 18.4 inch HD screen. The only thing I noticed was the fish were a bit jerky when they get close to each other. But it is AWESOME! The new animated corals are very nice, though I think the fan has a bit too much movement, jmo. All of the test versions have installed flawlessly.
So thanks again Jim. I use this program on both of my computers, though I only have the test versions on the Acer.
ps..I remember once reading that there may be a banded coral shrimp. Is that still on the table? The cave looks like a perfect hangout.

Thanks for the comments, fuzz. Yes, a banded coral shrimp is still on the list, but there are other creatures which are better suited to the cave.

Just as an announcement:

Since MA3 has now been released into the wild, the Beta download site with all the versions is now password protected. If any member now needs a past version for some reason, send me a pm with the reason and I will, if warranted, send you the password for the directory.

Bear in mind that new Beta versions will be coming just about as often (one is almost ready now). It won't be absolutely necessary to download them, but for those who wish to, they won't be wrapped in the Installer. The installer requires effort on Prolific's part, so we'll wait until we get stable versions before bothering them. Maybe once a month or so, we'll update the "official" version on the SereneScreen site. In between, I'll release incremental updates for those of you who like to keep up with them.
