Re: Fish Icons
hooters,
I've emailed the fish icon library to Morgan, one less thing you need worry about until you get your drive in order. I've installed my new All-in-Wonder 128, PCI, 32 meg. I'm quite happy with the results. It is quite an improvement over the old All-in-Wonder 4 mg. I am a bit disappointed with the fps rate though: 40 with 7 fish in 1024x768 32bit, I would have thought it would be more. Your's is an AGP model and your computer is probably faster than my old Pentium 233 MMX, 160 meg, what is your framerate? It sure is smooth though, the banding is almost gone on the background but there is still a bit left on the Powder Blue Tang.

Re: re frames and re icons
I have revised the 48x48 pixel Sachs icon library for those who have 'Use Large Icons' turned on in Windows.
There are 3 changes: the Picasso Trigger has been added; a new icon for two Clown Perculas (one facing front and the other in front with a side view), and I took the liberty of adding my favorite fish, the Moorish Idol. I plan to continue revising this library as Jim makes additions to the Aquarium. DOWNLOAD HERE: https://www.feldoncentral.com/Sachs/Sachs99Jlarge.icl

Icon Update
Well, I sort of drifted into the topic of icons with Patrick (patscarr) and remembered this old thread.
I've pulled together an update on my icon library. This time it totalled 110 icons (111 if you count my TinyTurtle icon ). This means that it's an 197 kB download which can be found here. There are both 32x32 and 16x16 pixel versions included and all in 256 color. Please feel free to use them on your computer as you wish. /Calle P.S. Morgan, If it's OK with you I'd like to have the old archive (Sachs(256col).zip)with this one in your post at the top of this thread (either as a link to my place or hosting a copy of your own). Well there seem like an awful lot to choose from.
I'd rather have the 48x48 and then one archive with all possible 32x32 icons. I'd like to use 48x48 icons, but it forces me to use them everywhere, even in folder views. Sorry, too much space wasted.

I don't follow you (again ), Morgan. There are no 48x48's in this archive. Only 32x32's and 16x16's. (Perhaps you read in some of Ajlaban's old post previous to mine. The 48x48 stuff was intended for a separate archive with just the fish in the SS right now. I'm messing with the transparency settings of XP icons this very now.

Apparently I was pretty close to finishing the XP icons when I made the above post about a year ago. Some have been remade since then.
There are twenty icons in the package – the one fish missing is the Powder-blue Tang which will follow eventually. The fish' fins use the alpha channel available for XP icons which make them semi-transparent (looks quite nice), but this also means that the icons won't be of much use to non-XP users. – Perhaps they will be catered to in the future? All icons come in 16x16, 32x32, 48x48 and also 64x64 for users who like un-tiny icons... The size of the zip file is 273 kB and can be found here. /TT |

Tiny, they look awesome, very professional... (probably a lot better than those Mac ones I found)! Thanks for sharing these with us. Will put them to good use.
(PS, I hope I didn't force you into releasing them to early.) /Tiny Artist |

Nope. The icons are really pixelated on 2000 because the transparency map is being ignored.

50 Marine Fish/Invertebrate Icons!
I was inspired by Tiny's artisticness( is that a word? ) and decided to give it a try! This is my attempt at creating my own Icon set. I added creatures that were not included in Tiny's (as it wouldn't make sense to redo ones he made, as they are great already). All icons come in 16x16 & 32x32. Sorry guys no hi-res ones, as these are my first icons I've ever created (maybe in the future?).
The size of the zip file is 54kB & can be found here: http://www.geocities.com/fish_bowls/...brateIcons.zip Let me know what you guys think? If you guys like them, then I will add more to the library. PS, Steve there are 7 starfishes in the set! |

I noticed that the link isn't working correctly! (I am only able to d/l it with a download manager, I guess geocities doesn't let you link to a file?)
Try d/l it here: http://fishbowl.0catch.com/50FishInvertebrateIcons.zip if the above address doesn't work for you. Maybe someone would be nice enough to host it for me! (It's only 54k). |
