I've put it into my code, but updating the version on the website has become a major undertaking now that so many people are involved. So it will have to wait until the next actual revision.

When is that likely to be? I've patiently waited many, many months now and the version i just downloaded from the website still doesnt resolve this (basic) issue. Can you perhaps email me a download link?

If Serene Screen is not in windowed mode the "Windows + D" key combo exits the program cleanly. That key combination to drop to the desk top has been around for a while too so maybe the remote can send that code to the computer as well as the "Alt+F4" code.

... and maybe not

Royce - I'm still not clear on the remote contol you are using, and what functions it can provide. Am I correct that it can transmit an Alt-F4, but not a right-mouse click?

Correct, it can transmit Alt+F4 and I believe backspace. Both of these work on the previous marine aquarium.

ps. The remote is a standard windows media center one.

Jim, any luck? All i really need the screensaver to do is exit on backspace. I dont think you need to worry too much about the remote i am using.

Jim, could you set a registry key that users can modify which will be the key that will cause the Aquarium to exit? Then people can just put the ASCII or Windows Code they want.

Yes, that's probably a good way to handle it.

Does anyone besides Royce still require ALT_F4 as an exit key?

Before answering, I would like to know why you ask?

Is there some difficulty or down-side with including it? Does it interfere with some other feature or something?

Sorry to resurect an old thread but I thought it better to do that than create a new repeat one...

... is there any news on this? I want to use it on my Windows 7 x64 Media Center setup but it ignores any presses of the Microsoft Media Center remote control. I have emailed Tech Support again but so far nothing back.

TIA, Rich

Instead of asking, why not just hit Alt-F4 and see?

Hi, because I cant do Alt-F4 from the Media Center remote (as per the post). However I have found that pressing Clear on it, cancels the screen saver.

Wait - you guys asked for exit on Alt-F4 because ESC or Right Button weren't available on whatever weird remote you were using, so I added it to v3.1. What are you asking for now?
