Thumbs Up

Finallly saved up my pennies and spent my $.99 on this.

Well, actually, I only today got back home where my itunes store login/PW was so I could purchase it.

Looks cool on my iPod iTouch - very much like I'm carrying around my PC with MA version 2.6 almost.

Can't seem to get the crystal and the clock working though.

(Yeah, I know - it's not there, yet.)

Best $.99 I've spent so far on my Itouch. Well, it's also the only $.99 I've spent on Apps for it since the rest of the Apps I've got were all free.

The clarity of the screen on the iTouch is amazing and MA looks great on it. I really like the zoom feature. As long as the aquarium doesn't leak I'm very pleased with it.

to all involved.

One small thing I've noticed with MA2.6 on the iPad is that the framerate is noticeably low for such a high powered device, especially given the relatively low 3D complexity of MA2.6. I realize this is just the first version, and I'm sure improvements will undoubtedly be coming. I just wanted to point out that the low framerate is noticeable and hopefully this will be an area targeted for improvement.

Having said all that, I'm still greatly enjoying MA2.6 for the iPad. Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming!

I haven't seen it yet on an iPad yet, but the animation is very smooth on an iPhone. Are there other OpenGL programs running faster on the iPad?

The iPad is a single core 1GHz computer.

One step forward, two steps back for the PC world. Why not just give it a 486?

Didn't know that. 1GHz is painfully slow.

It's an ARM CPU, though I'm not sure OTOH if an A8 or something similar (my iPhone is an A8, which is a very nice single-core ARM), I'm sure it's single-core, clocked 66% faster than the iPhone and has good memory bandwidth for an embedded CPU. Will be noticeably slower per MHz than any x86s tho, especially if you use SSE, etc. Okay, I'm getting too technical, time for a coffee...

You can put an iPhone in an A8.

Is it possible to keep the Ipod Touch on while running the aquarium? It now shuts off after a minute or so...

You would need to go in to settings and disable power save, click on never, I think, to stop screen switching off.

Yes -

"Settings"

then "General"

then "Auto-Lock"

and change the Auto-Lock setting to "Never".

Don't forget, though, that this setting affects all of the Apps and you'll be going through battery power a lot faster.

It would be great if the iPod Touch had separate settings for when on battery or plugged in. Maybe that will be on a future update to the OS?

'Tis a pity that people who enjoy the iPhone app are not leaving 'glowing' reviews on the App Store site.

Of the folks that actually took the time to leave a review on the Apps Store, they all gave 5 star (highest possible) reviews.

The two lowest 2 star reviews don't explain why. Perhaps they were expecting a game or interaction such as "feeding" the fish or "tapping" on the screen to get the fish's attention?

Dunno.

Mmmmm chiiiips.

'twas only £0.59 and my missus wants an iPhone as soon as she can talk me into it, myself I am getting a dual sim iPhone clone (chinaphone) so will never be able to run it.

I though that every bit of Jam helps!

The most loyal fan ever!
I never thought of targeting customers who DON'T have iPhones, but now I realize that it's a much bigger market. If I got 99 cents from even 1/10 of those folks, I'd be able to finish my house, my studio, and my movie.
