MA 3 + Moray Eel is in the works. Shouldn't be too long. I'm trying to clean up some things which I wasn't thrilled with in the prior release.

Question

I've been super busy these last few months that I totally forgot about MA3 but I guess a main issue with that is that I purchased a mac for my main machine and suddenly remembered about it. Going to download it now.

Hopefully my Windows keycode will work fine on the mac version.

How far off is a mac version with Harvey?

Update: Looks stunning on a 27" iMac! Thanks guys!

Update 2: Is there a way to make it so that the screensaver will not exit until you press the "Esc" key. As that's how I had it set on Windows and it was really nice.

I'll kick that out. I was going to try to get background color cycling in, but I just haven't gotten around to it and there is no point holding up the eel for it.

Last I checked, no. We can eat key-presses so the saver framework doesn't kick us out for them (like the double space-bar), but I don't think we can block mouse moves or other events.

Brilliant.

I'll look forward to the eel release shortly.

No probs about the mouse movement exiting the saver. If you find a way then please add in an option as it would come in very handy.

Sorry guys. I've been rushing to get ready for winter here (half completed garage and a day or two from falling snow) and haven't gotten back to this. I've got about a full day's work to do on this for the shaders. The "good" news is the ground is about to freeze solid and the weather is about to turn ugly so working on the garage is about to no longer be an option.

If you'd like access to the not-quite-done builds e-mail me or leave feedback at the Order N Dev website and I'll mail you the app with the eel in it. I could use feedback on the shaders as I work on them.

You developer types with your Real Lives. It really isn't on, honestly! How does one get the US Congress to vote for the re-introduction of the ball and chain?

The eel is in.
Background color control is just about done. Have a UI I'm fairly happy with.
The last thing I'd like to do is reduce fish popping through the reef.

Drop me contact info and I'll send you a build of the app to try.

Does it support spanning on multiple monitors?

No, while cool, that would affect relatively few users. I'm one of them, though.

Patience

I've developed the patience of a saint because of my love for MA. Most things on the computer are all about instant gratification but this app is SO the total opposite!

Mr. Tew, please leave feedback at the Order N Development site and I'll drop you a beta for comment. I'm very interested in feedback as I'd like to get this out in January.

Please find a beta with a drop dead date of 1/31/2012 at:

http://orderndev.com/downloads/MarineAquarium3-1.dmg

This has both the screen saver and the application. All of the names are Marine Aquarium 3, but that may change.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I started a separate thread for MA 3.2, and I uploaded a newer beta build. Please see that thread and use that newer build.
