No worries, Jim. I know we all have lives to live and some posts do go by unnoticed, but not by intention. Anyway, I hope you're feeling better. Speaking of which, that must have (for lack of a better word) sucked being sick while you were in Maui of all places. All that sun and fun going on around you and not being able to enjoy any of it.
As for the lighting on the background, hmmm. Well let me think about this, I'm sure I can come up with another idea. Hey, how about borrowing the animation from the Flag saver and applying it to the background (MINUS the flag of course)??? Ok, ok, just kidding... Hmmm, ok then. Not sure how I'm going to explain this one, buuuut. How about using the existing background and foreground lighting controls to simulate light play through the water? This way you wouldn't have to add in new functionality, you'd just need to tweak what's already there. What I'm suggesting is a 2nd "Automatic Lights" setting which makes the lighting continually switch between "x" number of presets (up and down, but not extreme up and down).

I think Steve just wants to make either a flat, or a slightly hilly lightplay object out of the ENTIRE back of the tank and then very faintly play the lightplay animation on it, to suggest more depth.
I haven't been to a pet store in a long time so I don't recall whether I saw any of the lightplay affecting any kind of cloth or printed backing to the tank.

That's an interesting idea, similar to my second suggestion below. Of my two original suggestions though, I prefer the first one -A) Affect the static background in such a way as to make the color waver (not the surface of the background, just the color) - if you can imagine what it's like deep beneath the surface of the ocean where visibility is low and the light cast from above makes the colors waver, that's what I'm envisioning or B) Have it reflect in the same way it currently does on the coral The most current idea would only require timed presets for the "Automatic Lights" function to switch between to simulate random light changes which is more realistic than the current "Automatic Lights" setting. In fact, BigScreen had a similar idea. BTW, if for some reason I'm not making my ideas more clear, then I do apologize. Some times it's not easy to put into words what you've seeing with your minds eye.

Additional Fish
The program is great, but the variety of fish is limited. Couldn't there be an (optional) "Fish folder" where enthusiasts could put extra models of fish, that could then be chosen in the fish-menu? These models could be sold seperately! When I buy a new fish for my real world aquarium, I'm willing to pay extra, and don't expect to get it for free just because I bought the aquarium in the first place. The same could for the virtual aquarium. Start a collector's frenzy!

With 25 fish, it's been a while since I've heard anyone complain about not having enough choices, but read the posts about the Creature Paks.

The first major update to the Wishlist is now online!!
https://www.feldoncentral.com/Sachs/wishlist.php We do not have the Voting system, Feature list, Comment system in yet, but trust me, what has been done so far was a LOT of work. Now we can add new fish and creatures in a matter of seconds (except for cutting out the artwork, scaling it, etc.). Thanks to Michael who has spent a ton of time reworking all the existing photos and acquiring new ones!!! It is still a tiny bit buggy but the drop-down menus let you select how many fish/special creatures you want displayed per page and per row. So if you have a 800x600 display, you can now set it to show a single column of fish. Or if you have a 1600x1200 monster, you can set the # of columns to 5 or more! If you are on broadband, The script I have created for the Wishlist goes beyond just this purpose. I have 4 websites I intend to use it on and I have seen some interest expressed by others in possibly licensing it! There are other scripts for this, but not less than 300 lines of code (a comparable one I saw was 10,000 lines). You may be wondering why it looks "the same" as the old one. I set out to prove that you can create powerful PHP scripts that produce pages that look completely hand-crafted. The "boxy" modulary feel has never appealed to me, although SereneScreen.com and FlagPride.com managed to make this work.

For anyone wanting to request or submit new fish/creatures for the photo page, there are a few simple things that would help us get your request processed quickly and up on the page. Of course, you are always welcome to continue to post photos and/or information here.
If you wish, you may also email me photos directly. Send them to my standard forum email address Jav400@comcast.net and I will take care of them for you. We will continue to shoot for high standards for photos, so we would request that you follow a few simple guidelines. 1) Submit photos of high quality, showing a single fish/creature as the primary subject, not a group or schooling shot. 2) About any file format or size is ok, as I will need to change and/or adjust those to fit the new page anyway. 3) Include the name of the fish/creature that you're requesting. 4) Please do not submit duplicates of fish/creatures already shown. 5) Please put Wishlist Photo in the subject line. With this information I should be able to handle your requests in a timely fashion. Hopefully, in addition we will get the voting process in place before too long so everyone can see which fish are the most popular. Thanks, Jav

Things are going well on the wishlist photo page. I have received several emails and have updated the page some. I might as well plan ahead at this point and add one more request.
You may start sending photo's for the other wishlists ( Jav400@comcast.net ) also at this point. Please change your subject line to reflect which wishlist you are submitting for: 1) Saltwater Wishlist 2) Freshwater Wishlist 3) Goldfish Wishlist Thanks for all your help and submissions.

Your photo's are up on the wishlist photo page located Here We don't have a page specifically dedicated to the creature packs. Those are still yet to be determined. Jim has some ideas of what he would like to do, but there are several things to be accomplished before those are made and released. To keep people from saying " Yeah, but you said creature XXXX was going to be in the first pack" we are going to wait till its closer to production before definately naming the contents.

A Creature Pack will be a special release of a group of specialty fish and/or invertabrates for a reasonable fee. Read about them here...
https://www.feldoncentral.com/forums...=creature+pack and start at the beginning of this thread. They are mentioned alot.
