Don't get me wrong though, I welcome the day that it ( the floppy) will be replaced by new, more efficient technology. In fact any new technology that improves old standards is fine by me. I just don't want multiple devices that only replace it's functionality on certain aspects/levels. I want one new "standard" device to replace it, so that way it's media can be used on any other computer (please not another dual+ format war, ... we already have enough of those as it is!)
The day that we can agree on "1" new standard is the day I see the floppy walking out the door. |
