I'm going to up grade my 32" so that I have the 120hz. I miss my 3d. I played all my games with the 3d on.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Jim, couldn't you persuade Samsung to donate a 120Hz monitor to you? After all, surely the advertising possibilities would be cool?

I was going to hit them with the idea of a cross-promotion - after all, they are using nearly an exact duplicate of MA3 in their TV ads. But first I need to at least see what it looks like in 3D.

I can see the commercial now! Jim Sachs, the creator of the best selling Marine Aquarium simulation program of all time, uses Samsung to watch it!

Ironically, I think the bit which looks flattest is the edge of the Crystal.
Can I confim which way the crystal is shaped? If I suggested that from edge to edge is one flat surface on the side of the viewer, and all the frosted edges are on the far side, would that be true or is that not the way it should seem? Though it takes some good looking to see the main body of the crystal as 3D. The rest of it is gorgeous, though. Flat 2D images just don't do it justice.

I think the joke was got, Pat. Jim's teasing you!
Meanwhile... back in front of the 3D monitor (so to speak)... Jim, you have GOT to see this in 3D! Beg, borrow or steal a 120Hz monitor and whatever you need to check it out. Hell, if you bribe me with flights and a room, I'll pack up my gear and come over myself! OK, I'm gonna go back to saying 'Wow' now. And lusting after the idea of updated fish models.

And now you understand what I was crowing about all those years ago. IT has to be at least 10x as good now.
I hate to say it, but I may have to break down and do something about this.

If you guys need me to wax rhapsodic a bit more just to keep you motivated, you'll let me know, K?
It's not just the fish - although fish 'floating' around in a three dimensional space as you've already experienced, Michael, but those corals are just so excellent and so worth a good drool! The animated 3D corals are exquisite, and I can hardly wait until the 3D brain coral gets animated, or the 3D elephant ear coral starts to sway a little, or the... ;D Anyway. It's really great, chaps. You guys NEED to see this!

I'm still hoping that I can get the 3D Vision system to work at 60hz with my Syncmaster monitor. I just got back from buying a power cable for the new video card (a G-Force 9800 GT). They don't tell you in advance that it needs a special PCI-E 6-pin power cable.

That's always good to hear, Ezreal!
If you get the chance, try it out in 3D! Speaking of which...

I'm running MA3.1 over dual 1920 x 1080 monitors and it is simply fantastic, I have no issues or problems at all and just wanted to say thanks for a great program.
I know of Jim's work in the early days of Commodore and Amiga and back in those days his work was cutting edge, a real father of computer games. So keep up the great work, schools of fish might be nice David |
