Bump mapping requires a second texture. Not sure if Jim plans to do that.

The fish currently have specular lighting.

Beta 7 is up:
http://www.fish-byte.com/MA3Beta.zip

This is a rough test of the crystal. There's no collision-avoidance for the crystal yet, so don't bother reporting pass-thoroughs. The crystal can be turned on and off in Settings, but no logo graphics on it yet.

Also fixed a few little visual glitches in the tank.

I also asked for shiny fish (a long time ago), but apparently the species in MA have more of a velvety sheen than the highly reflective look of freshwater fish like the angelfish you posted a pic of above.

There are currently three fish in the Marine Aquarium which need specular (shine). The only one where it really shows is the Copperband. So far, I have not been able to get my shader to do specular. All previous versions of MA used DirectX lighting instead of shaders, so I had the use of specular effects.

Jim has very high resolution photos and source material for most of the fish. The case of the Copperband is an issue of programming shaders.

Have you tried changing the volumes of the bubble sound and the music and see if it still happens?

I am able to duplicate the bubble sound problem. I should be able to come up with a fix for it soon.

I just uploaded Beta7c. Additions include possible fix for the sound volume bug and texture seam at the far left. Saving of scroll position is in. Rudimentary collision-avoidance between fish and crystal.

I'm downloading it now Jim... give me a few... and I'll recheck that left side problem.

BACK... Jim, the problem is there ONLY when the antialiasing setting of "Override application setting" is set. All other settings (Off, enhance application settings, application controlled.... etc.) are fine. I still can not see the seam flaw anymore...
