Color Logos

Could someone post (or re-post) directions on how to make a color logo? Thanks.

Follow the steps in my walkthrough but don't worry about desaturating it or filling it with black, white, or grey, just leave the logo as-is.

PNGs go in c:\program files\serenescreen\marine aquarium time\
BMPs go into the Aquarium by clicking Import Logo.

You know, following Morgan's directions really has not helped me much. Sorry to say. Is it just me or are they a little unclear to someone else? I really wish Sandy would post her procedure. She has been doing wonders with the color logos.

My guide is not step-by-step because different source material will have different needs. Unless I get lucky and find a sharp high-res logo on the web (usually with google or at embroidery/tattoo/branding/stickers websites), I typically re-create the logo from scratch in Photoshop or Illustrator. This is not an easy task!

My preferred logo will have already been stripped down to black and white or a couple of solid colors before I get started. Then it's just a matter of resizing and applying layer effects.

The guide is not designed to deal with cartoon characters and anything particularly colorful. If you have a photo or cartoon character, your best bet is to just use the soft eraser and make the best of it. The guide is not a primer on Photoshop or cutting things out. Smoothly cutting a logo or other object out of a larger graphic or photo is something that takes months if not years to master and this ability is highly paid in Hollywood amongst other venues.

If you have suggestions on how I can make the guide more useful, please let me know.

Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'
I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.

Okay, time to share.

I secretly asked Grape to make a couple logos for me and she was really very kind enough to help me out. She did one batch and sent them to me, then I asked her to make some adjustments and she did, and then I asked her to make some more adjustments and she did again. I was going to ask her to make some more adjustments but realized I was probably becoming a pain in her behind.

Anyways, here is what she did for me.

They look great Sandy, thanks so much.

But they were still not exactly what I had in mind, so I used her work as a base and relooked at Morgan's directions and with a lot of trial and error, I finally got the hang of it. Here are mine.

Surely one of those has to be good enough.

I think almost any of them is a solid, useable logo.
