Please post suggestions and questions about the Beta in the Beta forum.

While we're thrilled that you find the Beta solid enough to run on a regular basis, the Statistics display in the upper left corner is part of the Beta process. Please post it about it there.

However, all the hovertext for the icons seems to be misplaced. The labels for almost every icon are wrong. The labels in the "Smilies" box, to the right of the text-entry window, are properly associated with the smilies.
Well, after 9 years I guess there are still things that are being found that aren't set quite right.

I just corrected them.

I don't see the connection.

I do see myself running DA or a slideshow of my own photos more often than MA because of that stats thing. So I'm less likely to notice stuff that needs fixing. One assumes that we can expect more and more subtle problems and effects between now and GA (general availability) release.

Damn nice screensaver, though... :-)

The Stats-on is just my way of reminding everyone that this is only a test.

Marine Aquarium for iPhone

So there no version of MA3 for the iPhone. "We" need this to happen. The iPhone Apps Store has "My Aquarium" for $0.99 so it's cheap enough that a heckofalot of them will likely be sold. It's nice but it ain't MA3. You can drag the screen and pan left and right manually.

And the best thing is - it has ......
BLUE GRAVEL.

We'll see how MA2.6 does on the iPhone first before committing to MA3. The "movie" version has been out for a couple of months, but I haven't seen any numbers yet. The real version is still in development (just needs an interface). Even the 1024x768 background of 2.6 is way too big for the iPhone's tiny screen, so it's kind of hard to see the appeal of MA3's giant tank.

Remember the iPhone has a touch screen and the user can drag the aquarium around. And using just two fingers users can it zoom in and out. Also some people actually hook up their iPods and iPhones to their television sets using these cables. So a 1024x768 background may about right.

We zoom and pan the MA2.6 version. Also rotate to switch from horizontal to vertical.

MA2.6 is coming to the iPhone. Wonderful, Jim! I'm sorry, I have been living under a rock this past year and somehow missed this development completely. Rock On

Here's how the currently available version looks. It's just a 170-meg movie, which was put together by our German affiliate without my knowledge.

My small wishlist.....

I've had the Marine Aquarium screen saver ever since v.1 I think, I know that I have v2.0. I have downloaded v2.6 and v3.0, and I just love them all. I have been spoiled by the earlier versions though, first I always loved to see the starfish crawl up the side of the aquarium, and second I liked the option of having a clock in the tank as well. The new v3 is the greatest, I just hope to see the two features that I've mentioned incorporated into a future upgrade?

The clock is in - just press C.

I'll be working on the starfish-on-glass feature after the clams and the new fish movements.

Just wondering. Will the new fish models and movements be implemented together or will one supercede the other on your list?

The models will be implemented first, probably kludged with just enough of the old movements to get them to work. Then the new basic movements will come in, followed by more complex combinations.

Creature request

I want to have a bear in my Marine Aquarium:

When I first saw it, I immediately had to think of the Amiga Lagoon, which I love.

Josh Keyes artwork is astounding. Each image a juxtaposition. His skills increasing with each year. Would love to see him get together with some other creative minds and make a short film.
