NEW CRYSTAL VERSION ?
I know the crystal version is old news & some of you don't like it, but I came across & downloaded a new version with a ray embedded in the crystal (looks pretty cool). Not sure if this is Jim's\Prolific's work. The setting tab is illegible & midi music plays alongside the aquarium's sound effects. Jim is this your work or another Russian rip-off?

Russian/equiv rip-off – Some people on this forum wishes so hard for a Crystal version they might be interested in a copy though.
Why would anyone want to have a dead fish in their aquarium anyways? /Tiny Rip-off Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

It's pretty well done, but a rather odd thing to put in the crystal. And what about the ray's tail?

I don't like it. However, a version of the crystal aquarium with a goofy looking cartoon fish that swam really fast and smashed into the back of the crystal so you could see its squished face would be amusing for a second or two.

What kind of ray is it?
Anyone know what type of ray this is? Jim is right, it doesn't have a tail (that I can see). Anyone know if this species is suppose to have a tail?
Jim, any chance we might ever see any type of ray (of course a mobile one, not stuck in a crystal) in any future versions of the aquarium or maybe a creature pack? or is it just not suitable for the aquarium? |

Yes, Skates and Rays are planned for the creature packs.

If I had a dollar for every skate I've caught off of the pier down here in South Carolina, I could retire early.
What a pain in the butt those ugly little things are, Jim. WHY don't you skip the skate and do the baby turtle like so many others have suggested? |

Skates and Rays have been added to the list. They didn't replace the Turtle. There will likely be 2 saltwater creature packs. I'd bet the Skate or Ray will be in pack 2..

Yes, turtles are on the list. 3 or 4 unusual creatures are planned for each of the packs, as well as a couple of regular fish.

I've been telling people that regular fish are included in the $21.95 and only "creatures and specialty fish" would cost extra.

Found this image where the ray originated from. Just thought I would post it for those who might be interested(doesn't seem to have a visible tail in this pic either)

I'm not sure what type of Ray it is, but it's likely that the tail is not actually missing, but is instead behind it since their tales can move (I believe they have a joint where the tail meets the body).

I'm waiting for one of them to say to the other "Look at the hairless monkeys."

Very interesting critter. Yes, in the position shown, the tails would be bent back and not visible. If I had more pics and info on these, I think they'd be a nice candidate for the Creature Pack.

Perhaps we could find out from the site that fishbowl found the images at? Or from the guys that did the pirate version with the Ray in it?

By the way, if things work out this weekend I'll be taking my son to the Birch Aquarium for the first time. So I'll be sure to try to take some pictures of the displays and especially the fish. Hopefully I'll be able to get some good pics of the rays and skates so we can get some feedback on what kind might look nice in the SSA, Jim. Unless of course you already
Speaking of rays and skates, I found a pic of one that I really like. I've seen this one before in a display some years ago, it's really colorful. http://www.photovault.com/Link/Anima...04_07.4094.jpg

Yep, that's a nice one. The big problem with rays is finding a species that looks good and is small enough to be in the same scale as the other fish. I've seen small ones, and I've seen colorful ones, but I'm still looking for small colorful ones.

There's a freshwater species too, you know...
