Question 'Short Cut" icon gone

Very recently for some unknown reason I lost several Short Cuts and I was able to fix them all except my MA3

I have had a look at the settings (I have to do a program search to open MA3)
I found that the Sound had been turned off and a few others

My question is how can I put on a Short Cut again.
I have no idea how it got there in the first place possibly through the installation.

The last thing I want to do is a uninstall then reinstall the main reason I will have to go through all the steps to reinstall my own music not the one supplied.

I hope I have made sense.

I know what I want to do I just hope I have explained it correctly.

I believe that the easiest way is to just install it again. No need to uninstall. The install procedure will ask if you want a desktop icon. Please let us know if that works for you.

flip,

I haven't done a search for your operating system from other posts, so I am not sure if this is correct for you, I'm just going by this post. But, if you are using Windows XP, then go to C:\Windows\System32\MarineAquarium3.scr

Right click on the MarineAquarium3.scr and choose create shortcut. When it shows up at the bottom of your list, drag it and only it off onto your desktop.

Be aware that the files you are delving into are your windows operating files, DO NOT mess with any others or problems with windows itself could ensue.

Or select the "Send To" tab and place it directly on your desktop

I am using W7

Dale I was lucky enough to make a copy of all the change music you set out for me in a very simple Step by Step method.

Jav If you could give me the correct link that certainly would be appreciated.
I usually Remove any program rather than do a over reinstall. Is it just a matter of choice to uninstall then reinstall?

I just checked I have music but not my choice of what I had before this happened. Some where on MA3 I started a topic about changing it. It looks like the religious system, "Seek and Ye shall find"

Ralph
If it was such a simple matter of a "Send to" I certainly would have done that believe me.

OK, remove it if you wish. But you said "The last thing I want to do is a uninstall then reinstall". And just doing another install without removing it will work just fine.

C:\Windows\System32\MarineAquarium3.scr

Your settings files should be in:
C:\Users\Your Personal Account Name\AppData\Roaming\Marine Aquarium 3

Are you perhaps now using a different account (User Name) on the computer? If so, that explains how you "lost" the settings and icon. The settings in MA3 are "per user" - of course.

Question

Dale

This is the reason I want to buy the disk.
I down loaded a paid version .
When I go to log on using flip and my correct pass word it tells me it is invalid.
I tried to look up that file I cannot find it any where.

Can you give me two things please.

A direct link so that I can down load it again remember I am using W7 64bit & IE8

Also I still want to buy the CD but how. I bought my original MA2.0 from a company in New Zealand but they refuse to answer any E/m
How can I buy the MA3 CD from you or can you direct me to some where I can buy it remembering I have the paid download version.

I have all the letters and numbers that I received when I purchased MA3 about 20th Dec2009.

If you wish I can PM all that info to you or Jim S or to ever it has to go to

Don't they sell CD burners in New Zealand?

Download from https://prolific.s3.amazonaws.com/Ma...eAquarium3.exe

Or look in https://www.feldoncentral.com/forums...ead.php?t=4385

Or look here http://www.fish-byte.com/news2.htm

If you really want the CD,
I believe that Amazon ships to Australia. If that's accurate:

Go to www.amazon.com
Search for "marine aquarium deluxe 3 Screensaver" (without the quotation marks).

Sorry - I missed this part of your posting, in the midst of the detail. You need to be able to log in to your original account (presumably, it's "flip").

OK - so log in as some other user with Administrative privileges, and change the password on "flip" to something else.

It's Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\User Accounts\Manage Another User

Feel free to use the correct one that you remember. [Note: case is important - make sure the shift key is as you want it]

Then log out, and log in as "flip". See if the icon and your MA3 settings are back.

Hello Dale

Its Fri and I am getting rather tired big day
Shopping 15 min
Gym 2++hrs
Lunch at a Garden nursery.
More shopping only a few minutes.
Finally home
Prepared Dinner Fresh Tasmania Salmon
Dinner & a good wine

Finally computer time
I run a MS program called Autoruns. this tells me every program that is in my C Drive

I started hunting and I came up with some info about Serene, that then gave me more info. I then ran a search on C:\windows etc 32 etc
BINGO send to desk to.

The only thing I have to do now is remove that Banjo music (sorry Jim) and put my own music.

I did manage to keep the original reply you gave me in Dec09
when I get a chance I will change it.

All I want now is to buy the CD and if any like this happens again I will just down load it from the CD and change the bits and pieces.

WHERE??????????????????????????

This will possibly give me a new code but that does not worry me one little bit.

The CD is impossible to buy in Aust & NZ

Thank you for all the help.

So, you didn't do this? Or it didn't work?

If you don't like Jim's version of Canon try this one. It's not serene but you have to admire the skill.

OK I am a Aussie
'Having dived, fished and flown low over the reef several times it is a place to remember.

The MA3 is the GBR Great Barrier Reef ( well a computer version any way)
The music I had on was from the the CD Guardians of the Reef David Hudson.

The track I use is the same name 8min 44sec
It is a very haunting track including the Didgeridoo

Now Jim that has to be better than a Banjo?

Keith

I have also written out the program link and if it goes again I can find it in seconds.

Wait - you seriously think that mellow guitar is a banjo? Is your sub-woofer working?

A couple of points -
MA3 is not the Great Barrier Reef, it's an aquarium.
One criteria for the default music is that it needs to be a MIDI file with just one instrument.

It looks like the GBR any way I have seen many marine aquariums that should look at MA3 what a aquarium should look like.

You got me on that that one Jim, a Midi in parts of Aust could easily mean a beer glass size. Its a 10oz I think

Any way it a fantastic reef/aquarium with music
