Angry DDS file options for DirectX

Hey everyone... new guy here...

I've been working with 3D for sometime now... I mainly use a program called Blender. It's FREE and can run with the big dogs...

Anyways... I was toying around with some .dds files and have a question for anyone who has created similiar works as Jim's Aquariums... I'm trying to figure out the .dds options and have attached a screen shot of the options box... need to know what options will work.

I have saved some .dds images with various options, but I get wrong results... There is so many choices for a .dds file, I'd thought I'd ask....

Thanks...
Michael

Explicit Alpha (DXT3)
No MIP maps

You will likely have to flip over the texture in your program before using it.

DX6 flips the texture, DX8 does not. (Just to make conversion from DX6 to DX8 as hard as possible.)

Exclamation DXT3 application?

Hey Jim, one last question... what application are you (or should I ) use to create a DXT3 correctly with Alpha channel...

I'm using Adobe Photoshop with the DDT plugin, but getting weird results... my DXT1's are working fine, but my DXT3 are not utilizing the Alpha channel correctly...

Thanks again...

I use DXTex, a utility in the DirectX Software Development Kit.

Getting DirectX 8 to display a properly alpha-channeled DXT3 texture requires a few directives that are non-obvious and not documented anywhere within DirectX 8 SDK examples. If you are getting the textures, but the alpha channel is being ignored, lemme know and I'll paste the code.
