Where can you get a program to 'rip out' DX9. I think I want to rid myself of it. It is the reason the screen freezes when spacebar is press.

The DirectX removal programs may have drastic effects on your computer! I successfully ripped out DirectX 8.1 completely and then installed DX7 with no problem with these tools. I used DirectX Eradicator. He has a version up which is supposed to remove DirectX 9. It makes me nervous that he considers this beta software.

I went from DX9 to DX8.xx with XP restore. There was no problem. I later reinstalled DX9, also with no problem.
