Screensaver and connection
I use the deluxe version of aquarium..It's wonderful and perfectly running, but after some minutes, it disappears from my desktop and the PC tries to go online. I have this kind of problem only with this screen saver.
Can you help me to set my pc, so I can to use this screen saver without troubles? I use Windows XP Home and a dial-up connection. Thanks |

Hi Winder!
When you say that you experience this problem only with this screensaver, do you mean that you have tried other screensavers which work alright or that this is the only screensaver you use and it never happens in other programs? It sounds to me like you've got an Antivirus program (or something like that) which thinks the computer is inactive and tries to download an uppdate. Does it go down after exactly the same number of minutes every time? Don't worry, we'll get this one! /Calle |

IT occurs to me that if you DON'T have any antivirus software you could have a trojan and that would be the first thing you want to check.
After those two, there are lot's of things that can do this.

Whenever people say "this is the first program that's ever given me trouble", I have to chuckle.
This is one of the first programs people install on their computer that actually pushes their system to its limits, throwing realistic fish up onto the screen.

winder,
Turn off your autoupdate and do it manually. I also use Norton, but I haven't upgraded to the 2002 version yet. There are several things in that program that can cause you problems with ANY screensaver. the autoupdate is one, and the autoscan is another. Everytime mine starts an autoscan, which is set for once a week in the middle of the night, the next morning the SS is minimized and the scan results are in the middle of the screen. Basically, things running in the background, will effect your screensaver at this point.

Loved the screensver MA2, but as it is identified by my anti-spyware as containing a trojan, I deleted Marine Aquarium 2.

When downloaded from the official site, MA is guaranteed not to contain any spyware or viruses. It also does not connect to the Internet unless you manually press the button to do so in the Settings screens.

I think this thread has run its course. Until winder shows us some screen shots, it's FUD in my book.
