Install the latest drivers for your nVidia GeForce 2 MX400.

http://www.nVidia.com/ under Detonators 2000/XP.

Have you got Microsoft Netmeeting running?

If the CAD program (or any other program) is using the graphics resources, then the Aquarium won't.

Also, have you tried reducing the resolution to 640x480?

If the CAD program is running, it may be completely tying up the Direct3D subsystem. I've seen this before in other programs.

cad program is not running
640 by 480 gives me 8 fps.

have you ever seen 640 by 480 running on a 21 inch monitor built to run at 1600 by 1200 ?
it is waaaaaaaaay ugly

This is madness.

That card should be belting out 100 frames per second easy.

I would reinstall DirectX 8.1 and then reinstall the nVidia drivers then reboot.

Then hit Ctrl-Alt-Del and kill off every task that it will let you kill off. Then run the Aquarium.

We've seen stuff like multi-function printer drivers cause problems with the aquarium before too.

Hello
Well lets see OS win2000
Looking at your Graphical card and the drivers already installed i am missing 1 critial driver
go to http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=2
and downlaod the 4-in-1 driver
Deinstall your current VGA Card and reboot
than install the VIA 4-in-1 driver
This one will update the VGA Port Driver (and other drivers as well) see the documentation.
Than install your graphical driver again
PS Nvidia just released the latest driver for GF4
http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=IO_20020828_7569

well that should solve your and a lot of other problems as well

Let me know how it goes

Greetings from Holland
