TV Commercial shot
If I am not mistaken I saw a Gateway commercial that included a very quick shot of the aquarium running on a plasma screen in the background. If anyone else sees this commercial see if you can confirm this.

I saw it...It looked really cool....It is only in the opening shot of the commercial....The rest I think had the Gateway name on the computer screens....

There's nothing preventing them from showing the Aquarium or requiring them to put name credit.

W,
Do you think McDonald's should credit GM for showing a happy family driving a Chevy truck at the drive-thru (that's "drive-through", nCliff ) in one of their ads? /Tiny Credit Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

I suppose we all thought that, one way or another." /Robert Oppenheimer on witnessing the first thermonuclear detonation in history. |

An intentional placement for a Chevy mini ad in a McDonald's commercial is probably reality.
Marketers are sneaky people, sometimes subtle, sometimes not... Movies, video games, other commercials, product placement is everywhere... Tony Hawk has ads for Jeep and Mountian Dew in it, and while I can't think of one specifically at the moment, I know I've seen some obvious ads inside movies... Edit: I lied, I can think of one, there was a very obvious ad for Victoria's Secret in Terminator 3. Edit 2: And with that train of thought, Jim should be paying Gateway to put his aquarium in their commercial, not the other way around.
I don't watch commercials.

With any kind of legal action, the plaintiff has to demonstrate damages and place a monetary value on them. In cases like this there are no damages, and while the ads have not helped us in the slightest, no harm was done either.

Just to clarify, I wasn't saying that they were helping you, I'm pretty sure no one but us would even notice. And obviously you wouldn't be paying them for that...

On a related note -
I went to Innoventions at Epcot today. The Aquarium is no longer being displayed there.

I noticed yesterday that the Serene Screen saver is available at Costco (Canadian) $16.99. In keeping with the direction some of this thread has gone..... I could not find the Jim Sachs name any part of the box.
To give credit on a commercial clip is pretty impractical but to not include it on the box..... |

My name is in the copyright notice on the back of the box.
P.S. - Don't look for the Aquarium in U.S. Costco stores, it's only in Canada. There is still a small chance that U.S. stores will carry it in the future.
