MA2 black screen

When I try to run the demo version of MA2, all I get is a black screen. Have to reboot the PC to get out of it. I have a GeForce2 video card on a P4 1.7GHz machine with DirectX 9.0b.
When I run dxdiag, the PC locks up when I try the full screen directdraw test or the direct3D tests. I've tried the most recent video drivers from NVIDIA and the recommended drivers from this forum, but get the same results.
Any suggestions?

Have you reinstalled DirectX after installing the new video card drivers? If not, you might want to give that a shot.

Thanks to Morgan, Tiny Snapshots is up and running again with "Tiny Järvafält" as the latest addition – Go have a look and tell me what you think.

"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita. Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
'Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.'
I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.
