Thumbs Up Marine Aquarium 3.1 released!

SereneScreen - MA3.1

I know you think you understand what you thought I said,
but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Yes, Prolific cleared some time and were able to build MA3.1 into an installer package. It's gone through significant beta testing and is now available at SereneScreen.com. No doubt Jim will post once more in the MA3 Announcements thread so everyone gets an e-mail update.

Today I will see about closing out the current MA3/MA3.1 Beta discussions and cleanup as needed now that 3.1 is the official stable version. I'm neck deep in making BBQ.

Question

Rather than a new thread, perhaps the title to the "ANNOUNCEMENT: Marine Aquarium 3 (Download and News)" could be changed to reflect "3.1", since that would be the "subscribed to" thread and a notice there would trigger the "automatic notifications" feature for those who are subscribed to that thread?

I believe members were encouraged to subscribe to that thread, so as a courtesy to them, should it not be "announced" there?

Just a suggestion.

That's the one where I was having trouble posting, but Morgan fixed it.

It still appears to be "closed", but I guess you should be able to open it and make the announcement, since that is the Official announcement thread.

It's closed to all of us. Only Morgan, Michael, and Jim can post in it.

Yep, it was set up that way right from the beginning so as not to be bloated by posts about this, that and the other. Given that we manage to derail most threads between us, it was a pretty good idea!

I agree fully.

But, don't you agree that the announcement that 3.1 has been released should be done in that thread now, since it would trigger email notification to those who have subscribed to that thread for this very purpose?

Just sayin'...

I've responded to the announcement thread since so many people are signed up to receive e-mails when new replies are made. Now that we have an official Announcements area, we'll encourage people to subscribe to it instead. I'll probably also look at sending a forumwide e-mail on this.

What site do I visit to be able to download the official 3.1 version as an upgrade wherein I enter my key code that I have already purchased for the 2.6 to 3.0 upgrade????

Thanks, feldon34, what you've done addresses the issue and using the official Announcements area will no doubt be more efficient.

I believe that would be SereneScreen - Marine Aquarium 3.1.

Unless something has changed, the 3.0 to 3.1 upgrade is free.

Racer57 - There is only one version of MA3.1. If you have a 3.0 Key, the program should recognize it without having to type it in again.

So previous 3.1 releases were just SCR files and not installer, right? I can't remember.

Essentially. Morgan also put together an installer for XP 32 bit and previous OSes, but we were waiting for Prolific to put up the installer which also included 64 bit OSes. (i.e. Win7 x64 more specifically.)
