GF2 problem

It's not really a major problem. But it still bugging me. In the petrified wood tank. The piece of wood, the largest off to the right. That little dark spot on the upper left hand side has a little white speck on it. Now I was pretty worried because I though I had a dead or stuck pixel. That wasn't the case. I have had laptops and LCD screens with stuck or dead pixels. I checked and that was not the problem.

It seems like the petrified wood model in that tank is missing a pixel or part of the "skin" it is very small part. But still it is an annoyance a tad bit and I keep noticing it. It looks like the wireframe is coming though the model. I have a pic and will post so you can see. Also for some reason why when I take a screen shot with fraps GF2 has a blue darkish tint to it. MA3 looks fine. This also happens with sharks 2.

I want to know does anyone else have the same problem or is just my laptop? If so can it be fixed with an reinstall or was it just something that has to be fixed in an update?

Check the pic

The red circle shows where the problem is. In the screen saver that spot is a bright white. Like I said it looks like the wire framing isn't covered up.

My specs

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1

CPU AMD V140 2.30 Gig

Ram 2 gig

Video AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 256 meg

My resolution is 1366x768. I run the screen savers in the same res and I use widescreen mode. Incase this is useful.

I can see it too. It looks like a dead pixel, but it's not.

I take it you mean you can see it on your screensaver as well. Dead pixel or stuck pixels worry me because I have never been able to fix a stuck pixel. Though I have heard you can. But my laptop has a 2 year warranty. It is probably 1 year now though.

Also thanks for answering

If.. it is a dead pixel then should it not show in every program or wall paper? Pick a black wall paper.. the pixel should show if the screen is defective.

It's simply a 1-pixel hole in the Alpha channel of the image. Very difficult to find them all when you're doing the original artwork. This one's Eric's, but it took a couple of years for me to fix all the holes that people reported in Marine Aquarium.
