Jim will fight with his last dying breath to keep novelty items out of the Aquarium.

Dried brine-shrimp eggs. Put them in water and they magically come to life. Popular in the '50s when I was a kid.

I remember those, I had some when I was a kid also. It was one of those things that never worked very well, or lasted very long, but was interesting to see when you are little.

That diver must be a smurf to fit in an aquarium

In the 80's Boy's life still had them in the ads. Also that black head remover suction thing, the hover craft from a vacuum cleaner plans, and x-ray glasses. I'll bet it's all still there.

actually I think stores like spencers still sell em with the fancy tank that has view ports on it or you can just go to local pet shop and buy a Tube with enough eggs to give you fresh pets for a real long time. Ill have to go look now and see if I can find my old tank if so Ill post its pic hehe it was kinda cute for a gimmick. I remember the "Train them to do tricks" stuff using a penlight flashlight too.

Wink toys

Jim is right to keep toys out of the aquarium. I know it's a common thing to do in freshwater tanks, and that's what most people are used to, but they just don't belong in marine aquariums. No self-respecting marine aquarium hobbyist would *ever* consider putting a toy in their tank. I know that sounds strict, but the goal of every marine aquarium is to replicate the natural environment as much as possible. That's what makes them so beautiful.
