Sounds like you ran out of video ram. You could try turning off the bubble column.

re: Out of video ram

Thanks for your quick reply!
I tried turning off bubbles, less fish, lowering frame rate! .etc...
nothing worked, I even tried pressing (control T)
Maybe it might be my video card? a (diamond viper v770d)
It only effects the threadfin Butterfly fish?, SS 2.0 works fine!
I checked the frame rate, it was 29fps, if this helps it also said direct3 HAL VsyncCLAMP.

sorry im not very computer savy.

Thank you!

Try downloading the v2.01 again to make sure it wasn't corrupted during download. It doesn't make sense for only one fish to not get texture.

I downloaded it again just like you said and got the same thing (A Threadfin Butterfly fish all white )
I dont know what to say, My V2.0 works just fine!
I guess I will just have to waite and see if the final version of 2.01 fixes it?

If you have any other ideas let me know

This *is* the final version until such time as another update is created/needed.

I think it would look neater with a darker background though.

The fact that v2.0 worked is really irrelevant, since many of the fish textures are done differently and use much more video ram now. The failure to load a texture usually indicates a lack of video ram, but the fact that it's always the Threadfin casts suspicion on that theory. I'm leaning toward Edgar's view that the bytes in that texture are somehow getting garbled during the download process. Did you make sure that all remnants of the previous program were erased before you downloaded and re-installed it?

Also, I see that you are using the widescreen version. Does the same thing happen when you switch to normal aspect ratio? Widescreen uses a lot more video ram, since the background is bigger.

Hi Jim,

Well my Diamond viper video card is 32mb.

Edgar's idea did sound logical but I did clean all remnants of SS
turned off and removed all programs running in the background.
reloaded SS2.01 and the Threadfin is still white in regular or wide screen mode.
Clearly im the only one having this problem so it has to be somthing with my computer maybe i will have to wait till i get a better video card? Until then I still think its the best Aquarium screensaver out there!!

Well I finally discovered the reason for the white Threadfin Butterfly fish!
of all the silliest things it turns out my video driver needed updating, and that fixed everything!!

JIM , I sure hope you didnt take offence to my earlier joking around with the photos of the white fish!
please exept my apologies if you were.
