Windows Properties - Temporary Freeze Changing Desktop Color

I went to my desktop and right clicked the mouse and selected Properties. I wanted to change the background color of my desktop from teal to black. The screen froze, and everything changed to black and white and after waiting 30 seconds, everything returned to color and MA3 was running again. I changed the background color 2 more times and each time it did the same 30 seconds freeze while processing the new color.

Then few minutes later, Windows said it encountered a problem with MA3 and had to shut it down and did I want to send the information to Microsoft. Don't know if this was related to my changing colors, but thot I'd report that too.

It would be best to shut down MA before dealing with the deep inner workings of the video card. When MA starts up, it asks the card what blocks of memory it can use, and assumes those will be held sacred. If the card later pulls the rug out from under MA, the results are unpredictable.
