Sound killed (except for Serene Screen)

Can't find this problem discussed elsewhere here so please advise the solution.

After SereneScreen has been running for a while, and after I have interrupted it several times, the sound card seems to be permanently allocated even though the screen saver is not active. No other program can make sounds, though the screen saver seems OK.

Win98 SE2, Sound Blaster (PCI 16, as I recall). I didn't notice this problem until I upgraed to 1.1.

I looked for the compression option in multimedia settings, but didn't find one.

Ok, I am happy to report that version 1.1.3 of the Aquarium will take steps to try to rectify this problem. If the Aquarium sound is switched off by the checkbox, then the sound hardware won't even be initialized.

This problem has been reported quite a bit.

DB, I will e-mail you when there is a test version.

DB Cooper hijacked a jet, stole some money and bailed out with a parachute. In the 70's I think.

Don't know all the details. I believe it is a real story, but my source is the TV show "News Radio" so don't quote me

It's a real story. "News Radio" did a parody of it, having the owner of the station turning out to be DB Cooper.

The irony of the story is that the skyjacker's name was not D. B. Cooper. He was Dan Cooper on the manifest. A lawman gave a reporter a bad tip and the name has stuck.

Yeah, there was a big to do at the time about if he survived the jump, since he bailed out at excessive speeds for the time. If I remember correctly they did find some of the money packets on the ground somewhere, but no trace of Mr. Cooper was ever found.
