monochrome

Well, ladies and gentlemen, as you can tell, a newbie here. Can someone tell me how to take a color picture, and convert it into a monochrome .bmp to use with the acquarium logo area? I will be using paint shop pro, V7.

Thx,

BMP actually produces a very poor picture/logo in my opinion. If you want to do this, you must re-save as monochrome (black and white, not greyscale) 256 x 256 Windows BMP format.

If you post the image here, maybe someone can convert it for you to PNG format (which allows greyscale and color and transparency)?

PSP can save images in PNG format but what then ??
Putting the PNG file in the program files doesn't seem to be recognized.

Please read the blue box here:

I guess they made it just difficult enough that people would pay to have their logo created by Prolific? I can find no other explanation for why the product will not load PNG files except through a backdoor.

I finally managed to get my picture (full color - not monochrome) onto the crystal using Paint Shop Pro.
If anyone is interested e-mail me( geye34@adelphia.net ) and I'll try to explain how it's done.
The picture I used is one of my cat with his tongue licking his chops, works perfectly in a fish tank.

Now if I could just animate it with his paw swiping at the fish !!!
