MA2 showing registration number!!
I'd like to congratulate everyone involved in creating the new interface layout. I think it's a vast improvement on OS X.
However, what I don't like seeing is my registration number! This was never shown after I entered my details on the previous version. Why has it been decided to show it now? Anyone can now come along and write my reg key down, possibly post it on a newsgroup and then I get my reg key invalidated. It's the most money I've ever spent for registering a screen saver, and I wouldn't like to spend my money on having to buy a new reg code. For me, this has spoilt an otherwise great new product update. Regards Cookie |

If you are worried about security when you are away from your computer, password protect the screensaver. For OS X, go to "Screen Effects" in the System Preferences, click on the "Activation" tab, and select "use my system password."
It can become bothersome to enter the password every time you come back to your computer though. Maybe they can address this issue in the next update release. Last edited by cmccartney; 03-19-2003 at 10:28 PM. |

Showing the key code was an explicit decision. I think that people misplacing their keycodes was a big hassle which prompted the decision.

Future revisions of MA 2 (to come out shortly) will HIDE the keycode. Don't press me on "shortly" as I want to roll some other things in at the same time. Shortly means, well, shortly. You know, more than instantly, less than the distant future...

Thanks for posting a reply Jim.
I realise that a lot of work has gone into the new layout which I really do think is a great improvement. I can't fault you on that. Thanks for taking my concerns about the registration number into consideration. Maybe you could have an option on the registration screen to switch the reg key display on or off... Thanks again.
