calculating anamorphic ratio
hello all,
i've been using MA for years now and also have MAT when it came out. i have a question regarding using MA/MAT in widescreen mode. i am using the apple 22" cinema display at 1600x1024 resolution. as 16/9=1.777 and 1600/1024=1.5625, i took the ratio of the two and came up with the anamorphic factor of 0.8789. this resulted in black bars at the top and bottom of my screen. and i don't mind the black bars as this was perfect at displaying my custom logo (it as a circle in it). before using this factor, the circle in my logo would show up more as an oval. but with this setup, the clock seems a bit off (not perfectly circular). so my question is this: was the clock not designed as a perfect circle? or am i doing something wrong here. <hue tang>

I don't think it was a perfect circle because I was trying to fit it in the crystal to use the most area.
