New SereneScreen Website Design
Hi, Guys - (Cliff - Go do something else for a minute)
My friend Reichart and his friend, physicist Garrett Lisi, will be the hosts of a new show on the History Channel called Invention USA, starting Dec 9. MA3 will be highly visible during the show, on most of the monitors in their "lab". In order to take full advantage of the exposure, we are re-designing the SereneScreen website. If anyone is interested in seeing a non-functioning mockup, here's a link: www.fish-byte.com/NewSite.html

Looks okay.. If I was to be critical.. .. I think there are better angles to capture the MA3 than the one you picked. The crystal is worth showing I would think, as well as a list of features.. music, image on crystal, choice of format on clock..

Sweet. I'll definitely watch that show when it airs in Canada in 2013. But wait, isn't the world going to end in 2012? Just kidding, I'll definitely watch it and tell all my friends I know the guy who made the virtual aquarium. And they'll all say "Yeah yeah, Nicki, you just keep on believing that".
Run you clever boy. And remember...

Ralph - This page is a Gateway -- we wanted to keep the main page uncluttered. All the things you mentioned and more will be covered on the page that comes up by clicking on the image of the Aquarium. Clicking on either Reichart or me will take you to our bios. Clicking on Garrett will take you to a page where you can buy his E8 T-shirt. Clicking on the History Channel logo will take you to their main website, and the Inventions logo will go to the site for the show.
Many of the items which currently clutter up the SereneScreen site will be on the News page.

Very interesting. Looks good. How the heck did Reichart get his own show?!

I think this is the greatest news, exposure is everything. I was going to suggest a Facebook page for Serene Screen, it's very easy to set up and if friends click like and share the page, there's more exposure and it's free.

There's already a Facebook page. Patrick owns it.

My Serenescreen facebook page is just a fan page (like this forum). Jim, you or your wife, or daughter should make the official Serenscreen Facebook page (like serenescreen.com).

On the left, I'd rather see Jim with a brush, palette & tripod easel, the easel really being a computer screen that shows the same image as the large screen (or a magnified region thereof), but partly in wireframe mode. The large screen would not have to be so dominant then, and perhaps not tilted so much (if at all).
Very rough and incomplete sketch: http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/4626/newsite3.png Just my two (Euro) cents. Christof |

Still makes me think of Captain Nemo every time I see it.
I know you still have that sculpture/carving you did of the Nautilus somewhere don't you Jim?

Thanks for the suggestion, Christof, but it doesn't quite work for me. The second image of the Aquarium is redundant and adds clutter. The product name is forced into the lower corner where it doesn't fit. I'll stick with the original idea.
Re: the hat -- it's just a cheap Halloween hat that's only good for photos from a distance. It was about $5 online. I'd like to get a nice one that I could actually wear in public. Michael - Yep, still have the model. It will go in a permanent wall niche in the new Nautilus gameroom.

The top part is perfect, but I'd like a plain black bill, like Captain Nemo's hat: http://img.yaboon.com/movie/4162.jpg

I think the central artwork and people are fine. The typography at the top and bottom need some cleanup though. If I have a moment I'll take a pass at it on Monday.

Thanks, but I'll do that. The text at the top and bottom are constantly changing at this point.
