BUG: OS Power State Compliance
Let me just start out with a positive statement, that this is a very promising product, and I look forward to the future plans and releases.
BUG: When the monitor goes to sleep, the screensaver does not sleep it graphics display, thus not complying with the OS’s low power state, and instead persisting a higher power state. This statement is based on the application maintaining a high CPU usage. Over time, of course, this actually makes the screensaver expensive. |

Use the Sleep feature to control the framerate of the Aquarium. Eventually there will be a limit framerate feature.

I think if the computer's turned the monitor off it's not unreasonable to expect the screen-saver to stop doing all the 3D stuff...

It's not an unreasonable request. I'll look into it.

Check out the WM_SYSCOMMAND notification and the SC_MONITORPOWER message. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...8VS.85%29.aspx Hope this helps! ~Ralph S. |

Back in the Win95 days when I was first writing the Aquarium, those messages were notoriously unreliable, which is probably one reason I never pursued the whole shutdown thing. Also, it's a very "screensaver" issue, and I never thought of this simulation as a screensaver.
