Beta 11k discussion
Testing...
I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

OK, I'm having a problem with the "L" key which is supposed to go to the next "logo" in the playlist. Sometimes it is working and sometimes it does not.
Other keys - F1, S, P, are working, so I don't think it is the keyboard. Especially when I can type L, l, l, l, with no problem. Anyone else have this problem? I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

It is reproducible -
Have MA3 running. Make sure you have a few items in the "clock/logo" playlist. Then, go into the "Music Playlist" and only have CanonGuitar.sgt on the list. Press "Remove". Nothing will happen due to new 11k feature. Now return to running MA3. However, the last item on the crystal will remain there and not change. Now, press the "L" key which should cycle the Logo list. However, now it appears that it jumps to the top of the list and locks that item on the crystal. Going back to the Clock/logo playlist and moving to another item restarts the cycling. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Yes, you're right. I'll see what's happening.

FPS defaults to what I had in versions prior to 11i and returns to those numbers (111 fps, approx.) when I turn off "Limit Frame Rate".
When LFR is on, at 60 fps, I fluctuate between 59.74 and 59.94. At 61 fps, I fluctuate between 60.20 and 60.90. (Just "eye-balling" the changes for about 30 seconds) Seems reasonable. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

Thanks, Jim. No problems unzipping with Windows 7. I'll try XP and an early version of WinZip later, and report if there are problems.
Early comments: I really like the implementation of the Music Playlist - in particular the fact that it's not permanent until I click "OK". However, I do think that graying out the "Remove" button when only CanonGuitar is present, would be a nice touch. Re: Frame rate stuff: 1. I expected the up and down arrow keys to do something, under some conditions - including to reduce frame rate (either temporarily or permanently) when "limit frame rate" is on. Was that not planned? 2. CTRL-R doesn't seem to do anything to "Limit Frame Rate". Should it? If so, what? |

Not sure whether this is a "bug" or a "feature" in the Music Playlist stuff.
If you start out with a totally empty (Zero Byte) MA3Playlist.lst file and start MA3; A. The "text" CanonGuitar.sgt never appears in the Playlist. It remains empty. B. But the music plays just fine. [If you delete an existing MA3Playlist.lst file, and then start MA3, that file is created with the CanonGuitar.sgt text in it] Of course, not a big deal - just reporting all observations of "strangeness". |

Re: a totally empty Playlist - This should no longer be possible with the new system, unless someone edits the Playlist by hand.

A minor peculiarity.. The picked colors of the digital clock / calendar do not seem very "sticky". If I go to my music.. select a different song.. play it and return the color of my calendar will "likely" have returned to white. I say likely because it does not happen 100% of the time.. This going back to the default white can also happen with other options in the Settings Panel. This is not new with11k... 11j also does this.

I confirm Ralph's observation. The color reset to white also seems to be connected to JohnWho's "stuck clock" observation.

Not sure what I'm going to do with the arrow keys yet.
Fixed the "non-sticky" clock color bug. Not related to "L" Key problem.

Thank you for taking the beta testing concept seriously. I know you think you understand what you thought I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant!

SPACE BAR Program Settings Move Slider a bit OK OK That implies "hot keys". Beyond that, of course, there are several practical implementations. For instance, the hot keys could "move the slider". The current schema presents the user with a choice of "limited" or "totally unlimited". |
